QUANTUM OF ASSISTANCE
NSFDC provides term loan upto 90% of the cost of project, subject to the condition that the SCAs contribute their share of assistance as per their schemes and also provide the required subsidy besides tying up of the financial resources from other sources available.

REPAYMENT PERIOD
Term loan is to be repaid in quarterly/half yearly/yearly installments, within a maximum period of 10 years (including moratorium period).

Beneficiaries are eligible for subsidy @ Rs 10,000/- or 50% of the unit cost, whichever is less and to be provided by SCAs to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) Beneficiaries under the Central-Sector Scheme of Special Central Assistance to the Scheduled Castes Sub Plan (SCSP) funds released by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to the State Governments.
Note : On repayment of loans under Micro-Credit, through the concerned SCAs, the eligible beneficiaries can avail any loan under NSFDC scheme.

Under the SSY, loans are provided to Scheduled Castes Artisans possessing Artisan Identity Card issued by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India or State Government.
Subsidy to Beneficiaries
However, under the Central-Sector Scheme of Special Central Assistance to Scheduled Castes Sub Plan, Below Poverty Line (BPL) beneficiaries are eligible for subsidy @ Rs 10,000/- or 50% of unit cost, whichever is less. Wherever the beneficiaries are not provided subsidy, the SCAs shall provide their share of Margin Money.
EDUCATIONAL LOAN SCHEME
PURPOSE OF LOAN: The Educational Loan shall be provided for pursuing full time Professional/Technical courses. Educational Loan is meant to cover Admission Fees & Tuition Fees, Books, Stationery and other instruments required for the course, Examination Fee, Boarding Lodging expenses, Insurance premium for policy for insuring loanees against loan in case of death or permanent disability, Travel Expenses/Passage Money for studying abroad and Caution Money, Development Fund etc.

3.ELIGIBILITY:
Student(s) should be from the Scheduled Caste Community. The annual income of the student’s family should be below Double the Poverty Line i.e. Rs 40,000/- p.a. in rural areas and Rs 55,000/- p.a. in urban areas.

Educational Loan shall be provided to eligible students for pursuing regular full time Professional / Technical recognized courses approved by the Government in the following fields in India or Abroad :

HOW TO APPLY:
Apply through the concerned State Channelising Agency in their State/UT in the prescribed NSFDC application format alongwith checklist of documents in support of their caste, income, age, proof of admission from concerned educational institution etc. given below.
Essential documents to be attached with application form:
Caste Certificate from appropriate authority.
Income Certificate from appropriate authority.
Copy of School Leaving Certificate in support of Date of Birth.
Copies of Educational Qualifications (SSLC, 10+2, Graduation & PG).
Copy of Admission Confirmation from Educational Institute with fee & other charges payment schedule (yearly).
Copy of Prospectus of the Course for which loan is sought.
Copy of Identity Card issued by the Educational Institution if Admission already taken.
In case of Educational Loan is sought for study in abroad, please furnish:-
Copies of foreign exchange permit (if applicable), Passport, Visa No. etc. if study in abroad.
(Attested copies of the above documents are to be submitted alongwith the application form).
General:
NSFDC’s Educational Loan shall also be admissible for students of the target group who have secured admission to technical/professional courses prior to 1.12.2009 subject to the condition that they have not availed Educational Loan from any other institution. The Educational Loan shall, however, be restricted to cover the admissible expenses for remaining years of study on pro-rata basis. Further, all Educational Loans shall be sanctioned & disbursed on case to case basis.
The Educational Loan for a particular student shall be made admissible only once either at Diploma/Graduation or Post Graduate Diploma/Post Graduation Level. However, Educational Loan shall be offered to a student who secures admission in any integrated course of a longer duration covering both the levels.
To support the Single Women/Widows/Women who are head of their families to take up income generating activity and improve their socio-economic status.
2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The eligibility criteria for coverage of beneficiaries under the Nari Arthik Sashaktikaran Yojana shall be as follows:
(a)The applicants should be persons belonging to Scheduled Castes.
(b)Their annual family income should be below Double the Poverty Line limit as prescribed from time to time. (Presently Rs.81,000/- in rural and Rs.1,03,000/- in urban areas)
(c)The applicant should be either Single Woman (Widow, Divorcee, Single Mother, or Single Women aged above 35 years).
(d)All women registered under Widow Pension Scheme who strictly meet the conditions as per (a) & (b) above would also be eligible for loans under the Scheme.
(e)The age of the applicant should be between 25-50 years.
3. UNIT COST
The eligible candidates can avail financial assistance under any of NSFDC’s Schemes as per unit cost prescribed for those Schemes.
4. QUANTUM OF ASSISTANCE
4.1 NSFDC would provide need based loans under the Scheme as permissible under NSFDC Term Loan Lending Policy, without insisting on any promoter contribution and after taking into consideration the margin money being provided by SCAs and subsidy provided to Below Poverty Line(BPL) beneficiaries under the Central Sector Scheme of Special Central Assistance to the Special Component Plans @ Rs.10,000/- or 50% of the unit cost, whichever is less.
4.2 The beneficiaries selected under the Scheme can also be considered for assistance under NSFDC’s Skill Training Programme to undergo relevant vocational and entrepreneur development training in reputed institutions, if she so desires.
4.3 The SCA would be provided 2% of the loan amount as grant for the purpose of carrying out ‘handholding activity’ for the beneficiaries covered under the Scheme, subject to a maximum of Rs.4000/- per unit.
4.4 The beneficiaries covered under the Scheme would be eligible to avail further assistance for expansion of business after 2 years of availment of first loan provided the repayment is regular.
5. INTEREST RATES
The NSFDC shall charge moderate interest under Nari Arthik Sashaktikaran Yojana (NASY) @ 1% p.a. from the SCAs, which in turn, shall charge 4% p.a. from the beneficiaries.
6. REPAYMENT PERIOD
The loan under the NASY is to be repaid in quarterly instalments, within a maximum period of 10 years including moratorium period. The actual repayment period would be based on the nature of economic activity and income generation.
