Scheme under which benefitted - MSY
Ms Soniben Patel, aged 47 years, was unemployed and there was no permanent source of income in her family. There were six members in her family living in a semi-pucca house without basic amenities like toilet, drinking water and electricity. The total annual income of her family was only Rs. 13,000/- which was insufficient to meet the growing expenses of her family.
She came to know about Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (MSY) of NSFDC from her friend in 2010. She filled in the loan application form and submitted to the district office of SCA. A loan amount of Rs 30,000/- was sanctioned from SCA under NSFDC’s MSY scheme.
She started dairy farming that generated a total annual income of Rs. 47,000/-. There is a significant increase in her family expenditure towards food, medicines, and education. She was repaying loan regularly in monthly installments at the District office of SCA. Earlier, she was unemployed and now she is self-employed and plans to expand her dairy farming business. She is able to market her dairy products within the district. With the profits she makes from this, she will continue to support her business to grow. She has paid all the 36 installments @ Rs. 1,055/- per installment.
