Scheme under which benefitted - MSY
Ms Sukho Devi always dreamt of being a self-employed and independent. She learnt from her friend about HPSCSTDC providing loan under NSFDC schemes. She grabbed the opportunity to start her own dairy farm. She applied for a loan of Rs 30,000/- in 2009 and it was sanctioned. The grant of loan through HPSCSTDC enabled her to start dairy farming and her family annual household earning has increased six-fold. Before getting loan, her annual family income was only Rs.12,000/- and that has been increased to Rs.75,000/- now. The loan repayment period of three years was allotted to her. She has paid 31 installments @ Rs. 950/- per installment and there are only 5 installments due.
“It gives me joy to see my children now; they eat well and even have enough to share with their teachers and friends. Even though I could not continue my education after matriculation, my desire is that through this dairy business my children can learn up to university - that’s what I tell them and I know they can do it. The children feel good about our life now. They are proud that we have a dairy farming. I hear them tell their friends. To tell you the truth, NSFDC’s MSY loan has lifted us.” Says Ms Sukho Devi.
He took up the steel shuttering work in stipulated time limit and that helped his business to move forward. His income has gradually increased and there have been positive changes in monthly expenditure pattern of his family. He is now able to spend more money on medical care, education for his family.
